Our Graduate Program

The Graduate Development Program is designed to focus on accelerating personal and professional development. Graduates become contributing members of project teams while building specialist skills. They also gain experience and knowledge across support and service areas.

We offer each graduate the opportunity to build capability across a range of key business areas. Every member of the program is mentored and has a tailored learning program that places a heavy emphasis on integrating graduates into real projects with structured learning experiences.

On completion of the Program, graduates will have:

  • Developed knowledge of UGL's operations relevant to both our business needs and the graduate's professional interests and objectives;
  • Gained exposure to project activities from tendering through to commissioning;
  • Created valuable relationships with industry recognised leaders;
  • Had the opportunity to develop their career with one of Australia's most successful Companies;
  • With practical skills and experience at UGL comes appropriate rewards including accreditation with your professional body; and
  • You'll become an integral part of the dynamic and fast growing UGL team.

But we don't let you do it alone...

At the start of your Graduate Program, you'll be assigned a mentor in the form of a manager or supervisor from your area. They'll give you technical support, informal advice and guidance to optimise your transition to the work environment. The mentor is responsible for overseeing you through work assignments, overseeing the assessment of your competency levels, acting as coach and advisor and helping you become part of the team.

Employees are also given formal feedback about their work performance and an opportunity to discuss their training needs with their manager on an annual basis through UGL's Performance Development Process. There are also opportunities for this to occur on a less formal and continuous basis throughout the year.
